One of my favourite activities is to explore the beauty that is South Africa, from dusty plains to breaking waves and majestic mountains. To road trip and enjoy a proper holiday.
My travels have taken me across South Africa, with new places still to explore, as well as several areas overseas including the Botswana, Colombia, Doha, Malawi, New Orleans, Peru, United Kingdom, and Zimbabwe.
At home, I have toured downtown Johannesburg, Cape Town, much of Mpumulanga, Parys, Plettenburg Bay, and Umhlanga.
What delights me is finding unusual views; those scenes that are not usually captured and are often hidden from view. The way light falls on a tree in the forest, the sun rising over the ocean, footprints in the sand, and shadows at dusk.
These I have photographed over the years, using a variety of cameras and lenses. They record my memories of great times just as much as they speak to the beauty of the landscape that is all around us. Sometimes, I capture sadness and poverty – aspects of our life that are also worthy of recording so that all can see.
